Gifts of marketable securities (stocks, bonds and mutual funds) are the most common form of property donated to non-profit institutions. If you contribute appreciated securities, you may qualify for a charitable deduction for the current fair market value and avoid capital gains tax on the appreciation. For details regarding the tax implications of your gift, please contact your tax advisor.

All gifts of marketable securities are sold as soon as possible, making the funds available for immediate use by the School.

St. David’s School partners with the National Christian Foundation (NCF) to process all gifts of marketable securities. To make a gift of marketable securities, please notify the St. David's Office of Advancement at 919-782-3331 or [email protected], and contact Natalie Taylor at [email protected] or 919-278-7959 to process your donation and facilitate the transaction.

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs and will match charitable donations to qualifying educational institutions made by their employees. Some companies also match gifts made by spouses and/or retirees.

Enter the name of the Company below to determine if your company has a matching gifts program.

If your company provides matching gifts, simply submit the completed matching gift form from your employer, along with your gift. The Office of Advancement will handle any remaining details. Taking advantage of your employers’ matching gift program increases the impact of your gift to the School.

If your employer is not listed, but has a matching gift program, please contact the advancement office at [email protected]

Gifts of Tangible Property

St. David’s School welcomes gifts of tangible property, which are another way to financially support the School while providing potential tax advantages to the donor. Due to the complexities associated with tangible property, all gifts of tangible property are subject to review by the Gift Acceptance Committee prior to acceptance.

Make a gift of real estate assets or sell it to us at a bargain price. Donations of appreciated real property may generate an income tax deduction and a reduction of capital gains tax.

If you would like to make a gift of real estate, please contact the St. David's Office of Advancement at 919-782-3331, ext. 249 or [email protected].
